Professor H. Kamowitz (University of Massachusetts at Boston) visited me on an EPSRC Visiting Fellowship (reference GR/R09589) in November/December 2000 to work on a project entitled Endomorphisms of normed algebras of infinitely differentiable functions and their spectra. The final report (see below) was rated as tending to outstanding with internationally leading research quality, research planning and practice and outstanding research staff output.
