Hi I’m an Assistant Professor in the School of Mathematical Sciences. I am a statistician hence I love working with data, developing new statistical methods and using my statistical knowledge on real world challenges. I am also a big advocate for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) and am involved/lead many initiatives to improve inclusion within academia, maths and STEM (and just in general as well!). I also really enjoy teaching and improving student experience, I currently teach first years introductory statistics and fourth years statistical machine learning module, have pastoral responsibilities to my tutees and supervise dissertations and PhD students. I am a part of the Maths Observatory, researching the maths pipeline
I love chatting so if you are interested to work with me or find out more please do drop me an email: katie.severn@nottingham.ac.uk.
Please see my official University of Nottingham staff page for more information.
