Thesis Title Non-commutative geometry and quantum gravity
Thesis Abstract The applications of noncommutative geometry in the realm of quantum gravity research is a budding area with large potential. Noncommutative geometry has been shown to very naturally produce the Standard model of particle physics and attempts to include a quantum description of gravity are currently in their initial stages. This project will involve developing ideas of noncommutative spaces (so called fuzzy spaces) that are appropriate approximations to regular commutative manifolds with always a focus of physics and specifically quantum gravity as a motivating factor.
